Welcome to the Greencastle High School Alumni Association Web Site
Welcome to the GHS Alumni Website. This website is provided by the GHS Alumni Association for your use in reconnecting with former classmates and keeping up what is happening at GHS and in Greencastle. If you want to get a message to us, please send it via a “Contact Us” form. You DO NOT have to be a GHS graduate to be considered an alum. If you attended any Greencastle school and want to keep in touch, welcome! If you are interested in becoming a member of the Alumni Association for only $10 per year, please go to the membership section and print out a membership application. Our next major event will be the All-Class reunion scheduled for June 6, 2009 at McAnally Center. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend. We hope that families and classes will plan to reserve tables. Tickets will be available in April. The 2008 Board of Directors consists of the following: Jinsie Scott Bingham '53, Audra Dorsett Holton '54, Karen Birt Wood '54, David Boswell '73, John and Libby Ash '49, Rebecca Blue Reagan '69, Thelma Tucker Bumgardner '57, Cathy Evens Rossok '75, Barbara Hedge McClaine '50, Marilyn McGill Clearwaters '53, Charles Miles '48, Jim Graves '57, Peggy McClaine '67, Steve McMains '67, Vicki Johnson Oliver '77, Suzy Gould Schneider '64, Jenny Oliver Dobson '99, Steve Fenwick '76, and John and Carolyn Flint Carson, both 57. 2008/9 officers are Steve McMains '67, President; Suzy Gould Schneider '64, Vice-President; Audra Dorsett Holton '54, Secretary; and Karen Birt Wood '54, Treasurer. You may now print off an application form to apply for the GHS Alumni Scholarship on this website. Just click on the Scholarship page, and you may print off both a copy of the application and the scholarship requirements form. Please read the requirements carefully as incomplete applications are not considered. Applications need to be submitted to the Putnam County Foundation at 2 South Jackson Street or mailed to P.O. Box 514 in Greencastle no later than April 1. Please take time to “surf” our website to see what we have to offer. And, please share the address with other GHS alums that you know. We would appreciate your completing a “Contact Us” form on your first visit to give us your e-mail address and your correct mailing address. Keeping our mailing lists up-to-date is the biggest challenge we have, so please complete a “Contact Us” any time there is a change in your information. You have the option of whether or not you want us to post your address and e-mail on the website. We can publish part and hide part. It’s up to you. If you are on the planning committee for a class reunion, we stand ready to help you. The Alumni Association is happy to provide classes with a list of the names and the mailing addresses we have for your classmates. Just contact us. We will also post your upcoming reunion on the Alumni Events page, and a write-up about your reunion after it’s over. We know that we have people listed as living that are actually deceased. Would you look through the older class lists for your relatives and friends and let us know if we have someone's status listed wrong? It's hard to keep up, especially with people who long ago moved out of our area. We'd appreciate your help. To see a list of your classmates, go to "Alumni Contact", hit the arrow on the box to find the year you want to see and hit "submit". A list of your classmates’ names, e-mail addresses, and some physical addresses will appear. There is also status information indicating whether an alumnus is living or deceased. You may send an email to a classmate by simply clicking on their email address on the class page. You may also search for an alumnus by name if you don’t know the class year, and by maiden name if you don’t know a married name. With these “bells and whistles," you may also search just by first or last name, but right now that has to be done from the class page.
